How to Get International Driving License in Pakistan: Step by Step Guide

If you are a resident of Islamabad, you can get your IDP from Citizen Facilitation Center Islamabad. The other major cities of Pakistan such as Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta also have approved centers of traffic police of that particular province that issue IDP.  For example, in Karachi, only the Clifton branch of Sindh Traffic Police can issue IDP.

Therefore, you can get your international driving license from the specified traffic police branches. Before going there, make sure to have certain documents that will be needed.  We are mentioning below the required documents.

Required Documents

• CNIC Copy
• Photocopy of your valid Pakistani driving license
• Attested copy of valid passport along with valid visa
• Proof of your residence in that particular city (Domicile or Permanent Resident Certificate)
• Three passport-size attested photographs (only in blue or white background)
• Ticket of mentioned fees/ fees challan (that could vary from city to city)
• If you are a resident of Karachi, a medical certificate will also be required
• Along with all these copies, do not forget to bring the original documents for verification.  Otherwise, your application will not be processed.

Procedure

• They will issue you a token. Get it and wait for your turn.
